Washington Nationals youngster James Wood confirmed that he will participate in the Home Run Derby during All-Star festivities later this month. He is the third participant to confirm, following Ronald Acuna Jr.

The second-year outfielder continued his historic start with the Nationals with a big day at the plate in Washington's 11-7 win over Detroit.

It's an incredible honor for the 6-foot-7 Wood, who will get a chance to be properly introduced to a national audience during the event in Atlanta. He would be the youngest-ever winner if he claims the Home Run Derby title, according to MLB's Sarah Langs.
