Everton are closer to reaching an agreement with Villarreal over signing France Under-21s striker Thierno Barry.

Everton have reached an agreement to sign forward Thierno Barry from LaLiga side Villarreal for an initial €35 million, sources have told ESPN.

After an inauspicious start, which saw him sent off on two separate occasions, Barry soon made a positive impression and his return of 20 goals in 41 games for the 21-time Swiss champions in the 2023-24 campaign led him to sign for Villarreal for £12m in August of last year.
