Yordan Alvarez received two injections in his injured hand and will be shut down from baseball activities for "the upcoming days."

Houston Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez’s setback to his recovery from a fractured right hand is not as serious as first feared.

The 28-year-old, three-time All-Star has been out of the Astros' batting lineup since May 2 after sustaining a fractured right hand. Although Alvarez still has no timetable for his return while undergoing rehab for the injury, Houston was able to provide an update on Thursday.
