On Friday, June 12, 2026, at approximately 6:45 p.m., a large tent collapsed during an outdoor service at East Lake Community Church, injuring multiple people and resulting in one fatality, according to Bedford County Public Information Officer Shelly Basinger.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — At least a half dozen fans were injured when a severe thunderstorm moved through Kendrick Family Ballpark Saturday afternoon. Monongalia County EMS reported seven people were injured but indicated that number could climb. Five of the seven were taken to Morgantown hospitals.
