The Catawba County man who was seriously hurt in a fiery explosion at his home has been charged with possession and manufacturing a weapon of mass destruction.

Catawba County deputies confirmed they found a pipe bomb and pieces to make a bomb at a home where a man was seriously hurt.

“I also noticed that the rider was running across the street on fire,” Perez said.

Officials in San Antonio say the children were unharmed and that the driver, who suffered second-degree burns, will be OK.
