Tropical Cyclone Narelle has officially formed in the Coral Sea, tracking a path toward a late-week collision with Cape York as a category 4 storm.

The northern tip of Cape York has been identified as the most likely entry point for a devastating cattle disease that could cripple Australia’s multibillion-dollar beef and dairy industries.

Researchers have mapped the northern gateways where the cattle disease, lumpy skin disease, could first enter Australia, identifying Cape York Peninsula and Port Hedland as the highest-risk locations.
