The Los Angeles Sparks "would have been" the preference of UConn star Paige Bueckers in the 2025 WNBA draft lottery, according to ESPN's Michael Voepel.

The Sparks had the best odds, at 44%, to secure the top pick, but the Dallas Wings claimed the No. 1 selection and the chance to draft UConn star Paige Bueckers.

That 45 percent refers to the odds the Sparks had at getting the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. In comparison, the Wings only had around a 28 percent chance at landing the No. 1 overall pick. They used a little bit of lottery luck to move up, not unlike the Sparks did last season.
