A major storm system will bring significant rain to the Northeast to end the week. Totals of 1-2 inches are likely in some spots. This rain will provide much-needed fire weather and drought relief.

Showers will move out late morning, but we could see some more sprinkles or showers to end off the week with gusty winds and chilly temperatures.

Nice weather is expected to start the week in Maine, before we finally see much needed soaking rain returning to the forecast later this week. Notable mountain snow will be possible as well. Monday looks very nice.
