"Gladiator II" pulled out all the stops Monday night while celebrating its Los Angeles premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre.

The film, which plays in theaters Friday, is a sequel to the 2000 film starring Russell Crowe as Maximus. "From legendary director Ridley Scott, Gladiator 2 continues the epic saga of power, intrigue, and vengeance set in Ancient Rome," an official description reads.

He's earned critical acclaim and award nominations for performances in "Aftersun" and "Normal People." Now, Irish actor Paul Mescal, who's become a Gen Z heartthrob, is front-and-center of Ridley Scott's epic "Gladiator II.

"The box office needs a shot in the arm, and if films like ‘Gladiator II’ aren’t doing it, it would be concerning," he admitted.
