The Mets thoroughly outplayed the Yankees again in a 12-6 dusting in front of 41,401 on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in which the sun appropriately shined longer on the Mets’ dugout.

Pete Alonso homered twice and drove in five runs, Brandon Nimmo hit his second grand slam in four days and the New York Mets battered the reeling New York Yankees 12-6 on Saturday.

The Mets look to extend their win streak to four in the second game of the Subway Series at 4:10 p.m. Saturday against the Yankees at Citi Field.
