Thousands attend funeral of former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah
A funeral was held for former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut last September. During the service, Israeli jets flew overhead as the IDF also conducted strikes in southern and eastern parts of the Lebanon.
Tens of thousands of mourners dressed in black vowed support for Hezbollah at the funeral of Nasrallah and Hashem Safieddine.
His death was a major blow for the Iran-backed group that he had transformed into a potent force in the Middle East.
Statements and speeches at the event have all indicated that Iran’s axis believes that the 'resistance' is not defeated.
