Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris traded places atop the timing sheets in the first two practice sessions at the Formula 1 British Grand Prix. Will one of those hometown heroes take pole position today, or will another driver step up and go fastest during qualifying at Silverstone?

Could we see another British winner this year? Lewis Hamilton has an incredible record at Silverstone and won here last year for Mercedes. Lando Norris comes off the back of a victory in Austria and with the McLaren has the fastest car on the grid. Believe it or not, both of them are in contention this weekend.

F1 betting sites are all backing Norris for the win at 7/4, just ahead of Piastri at 9/5 and Verstappen at 5/1. Reigning champion Verstappen didn’t finish in Austria last weekend, bringing an end to a 31-race points streak. His last retirement before then was also on the first lap, at Silverstone in 2021, when he was also hit by a Mercedes.
